Gait
Key ambulation metrics

Ambulation is a complex series of motions that need to be performed in the appropriate sequence. Ambulatory status is a fundamental functional classification in medicine and maintaining a proper gait is essential to health and survival. Early identification of any chronic or acute neuromusculoskeletal pathology will facilitate early intervention and optimize restoration of proper health throughout the entire treatment process from diagnosis to discharge.

Balance
Deviation & recovery events

Optimizing balance, static or dynamic, is vital for daily activities – sitting, standing, walking, running, lifting, everything we do. Various factors like surfaces, lighting, and weather impact movement. When balance falters, identifying underlying issues is crucial for effective treatment. BioMech Lab directly measures, assesses, and visualizes balance events in real-time and three dimensions. Balance test metrics include trajectory, timeline, and pattern assessment, providing comprehensive insights for maximized treatment outcomes.

Symmetry
Compare movements across the midline

Symmetry is a health gauge, with asymmetrical movement signaling various conditions. Comparing points across the midline assesses their quality and contribution. Determining symmetry aids in identifying pathology, injury, and optimizing treatment in physical therapy and corrective exercise. BioMech Lab captures, analyzes, and displays comparative information for both sensors, offering valuable insights for tailored interventions and improved overall health.

Angles
3D functional range of motion evaluation

Joint function is crucial for health, especially post-injury, during chronic illness, or in normal aging. Comprehensive range-of-motion assessments in all dimensions are clinically meaningful. BioMech Lab autonomously measures range of motion in sagittal, frontal, and transverse planes with precision. This detailed analysis ensures effective intervention, optimizing joint health throughout the treatment process for better overall well-being.

Cognitive
Voluntary motor responses to visual stimuli

Reacting to the environment is a crucial health indicator, involving sensory perception, cognition, and motor response. Evaluating each component's function, individually and in relation to others, is imperative. BioMech Lab incorporates Reaction Tests (SRT, CRT, DRT) to identify, measure, and report motor response speed, pattern, and accuracy. These tests, whether simple or complex stimuli, offer clinicians vital diagnostic and treatment metrics.

Tremor

BioMech Lab measures the amplitude and frequency of tremors in three dimensions and at a rate that is more inclusive than visual analyses. The objective evaluation reports whether the patient was at rest for the test or performing a task, and tracks last medication time to collectively assess tremor severity, pharmacotherapeutics effects and physical therapy strategies.
